Synergy Training Program
A Mini Residency in Restorative Implant Dentistry Successful
implant dentistry is the result of a team effort. The best outcome is
realized when each member of an implant team coordinates his/her efforts
with other members. This approach is being applied to the practice of
implant dentistry through the Biomet 3i Synergy Training Program.
This will be an 8 month long program.
SESSION 1 - February 4th, 2011
Making Implants the treatment of choice for replacing teeth
8:00am to 4:30pm
Making Implant dentistry conventional dentistry thru treatment planning,
mapping and patient selection. Case Presentation of single unit
posterior and the fully edentulous mandible. Building your restorative
implant team & staff training.
SESSION 2 & 3 - April 1st& 2nd, 2011
Treatment Planning and Case Presentation
8:00am to 4:30pm
Patient presentation and treatment plans including Patient Presentation
Letters – Indications for implant design and occlusual design.
Provisionalzation and surgical preparation.
SESSION 4 - September 16th, 2011
Restorative Procedures
8:00am to 4:30pm
Patient status and review of surgical and Impressioning procedures.
Abutment selections criteria
– Cement vs. Screw retained. Overdenture abutment bar and fixed hybrid
design.
SESSION 5 - September 30th, 2011
Past Participants Presentation
8:00am to 1:00pm
Evaluation and treatment planning of difficult cases completed by past
STP Graduates.
SESSION 6 - November 4th, 2011
Final Case Presentations
8:00am to 4:30pm
Prosthesis delivery and implant maintenance including complications. New
horizons in implant dentistry.

Faculty: Dr. Steven J. Locascio
Dr. LoCascio received his dental degree from Louisiana State University
School of Dentistry in New Orleans and completed a General Practice
Residency at the Medical Center of Louisiana, Charity Hospital. He
returned to the School of Dentistry at Louisiana State University to
pursue advanced training in restorative dentistry and was awarded
specialty certificates in Prosthodontics and Maxillofacial Prosthetics.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of
Osseointegration and the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr.
LoCascio is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in
Knoxville, Tennessee and maintains a private practice, limited to
prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthetics, in Knoxville, Tennessee.

tuition and Sundance Dental Laboratory will give each graduate a $375
credit towards your Sundance Dental Laboratory Account – Base Cost
